SoCI-ITCC-BC operates several websites, including yarny.me, yarnyapp.com, and getyarny.com. It is SoCI-ITCC-BC’s policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our web sites and applications.  Please direct any concerns or questions you may have regarding your privacy on these sites to support@getyarny.com.

1. Protection of Information You Provide to SoCI-ITCC-BC

When you use SoCI-ITCC-BC sites or applications on a beta, trial, free, or paying basis, communicate with SoCI-ITCC-BC's customer service, register on a site, or send SoCI-ITCC-BC an email, you provide us with information that we collect.  Such information may include your IP address, referring URL, name, physical address, email address, phone number, cellphone number, credit card information, form default/profile information, information contained and collected in using our applications, and other information such as gender, occupation, and other demographic information to help us improve your experience.  By providing us with this information, you consent to your information being collected, used, and stored by us in accordance with this Privacy Policy.  We may use the information you provide to us to:

  • Send you an email regarding site status
  • Activate and/or deactivate trials
  • Encouraging use, donations, and/or renewals
  • Provide status on system availability and updates
  • Attempt to elicit donations
  • Maintain current account information
  • Respond to requests for help
  • Protect the rights and safety of SoCI-ITCC-BC and its personnel and other customers.

We may disclose your information to our attorneys and/or other hired advisors as reasonably required in connection with our business operations, and we may disclose your information to meet any legal requirement such as complying with a court order or otherwise as required by law enforcement agencies.  We may transfer your information in the event of selling some or all of Yarny to a third party; however, in such a case, any acquirer will be subject to the provisions of this privacy policy.

2. It's Your Data

The data that you enter into SoCI-ITCC-BC applications is stored on servers. We do not use this data, sell this data, market this data, or share this data with any other party, nor do we use it for our own commercial purposes.  This data is kept strictly confidential.  SoCI-ITCC-BC students and employees may access customer data solely for the purpose of troubleshooting a problem, investigating a possible technical issue, or otherwise directly assisting that customer.

3. Safeguarding Your Data

To protect your information, our credit card processing vendor uses 128 or 256-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology for secure transactions.  In addition, our vendor is certified as compliant with card association security initiatives, such as the Visa Cardholder Information Security and Compliance (CISP), MasterCard (SDP), and Discovery Information Security and Compliance (DISC).

Our users who access via an https connection access and provide data via a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) connection to the server.  

SoCI-ITCC-BC accounts require both a username and password to log in.  When you're finished using a SoCI-ITCC-BC site or application, please click the "log out" link in the top right corner of your screen to prevent someone from using your computer to access your account.  You must keep your username and password secure and not disclose it to a third party.  Due to the sensitive nature of your data, we do not re-send forgotten passwords.  Users must follow online instructions to reset their passwords if they forget them.  Passwords are maintained using SHA 256 bit encryption.  Account passwords are encrypted; we cannot see your passwords, we can only reset them.

4. Breach of Security

No company or system is totally safe from security breaches.  In the event of a security breach, we will notify you as soon as possible if this breach materially affects you or any aspect of your account and will notify you of corrective actions taken.

5. Accuracy of Data

We do our best to keep your profile data accurate.  If your data changes, such as your email address, then it is your responsibility to notify us of such a change so that we can keep our records up to date.

6. Aggregated Statistics

SoCI-ITCC-BC may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites.  This information is for internal use and will not be disclosed.

7. Cookies

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor's computer and that the visitor's browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns.  SoCI-ITCC-BC uses cookies to help SoCI-ITCC-BC identify and track visitors, their usage of SoCI-ITCC-BC websites, and their website access preferences.  Cookies must be allowed within your browser for you to use SoCI-ITCC-BC applications as their use is essential in maintaining server sessions and other data management purposes.  For security purposes, we recommend the minimum browser security setting that allows use of cookies only to sites to which the end-user has navigated.

8. Privacy Policy Changes

SoCI-ITCC-BC may change its Privacy Policy from time to time and at SoCI-ITCC-BC's sole discretion.  SoCI-ITCC-BC encourages visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to its Privacy Policy.  Your continued use of this site after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.
